Mahmuda Khanam
Managing Director
Social Safeguard Specialist
Mrs. Khanam has a proven track record of leading a multidisciplinary team of analysts and experts in the resettlement sector. She has been involved in designing and reviewing Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) in the renewable energy sector, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Resettlement Policy Framework, and reviewing Operation and Management Plans. Moreover, Mrs. Khanam is a legal expert in drafting and reviewing financial agreement documents, bid documents, and debt financing agreements. He has several years of working experience as a consultant for development partners.
Mahmuda Khanam has 10 years of experience working with ADB, AIIB, GIEK, and GoB finance projects. He is experienced in preparing and implementing ESMF, ESIA, CIA, SESA, RPF, SEP, LMP, ILRP, Gender and GBV prevention plan, RAP, LAP, etc., in 45 projects. Among the 45 projects, 35 projects are categorized as “A” in terms of risks and impacts.
A. K. M. Reazul Haque Khan
Senior Environmental Specialist
Mr. Haque has been involved in the infrastructure development sector as an environmental specialist for nearly a decade. He successfully carried out environmental audits, including the development of methodologies, ESMS audit/ corporate ESMS audits, Program Safeguard Systems Assessment (PSSA), environmental portfolio review, including capacity building, appraising and evaluating the projects of both preparation and implementation stage, regular monitoring of borrowers’, contractors and consultants’ environmental safeguard activities to ensure that they are fully compliant.
Mr. Haque got 10 years of working experience in environmental field. He has vast experience to prepare and implement IEE, ESIA/EIA, ESMF and ESMP in Word Bank, ADB, AIIB and JICA financed projects. He has also experienced to conduct consultation meetings and environmental study at field level.
Mohammad Mehedi
Social Safeguard and Resettlement Expert
Mr. Mehedi has been working in various capacities in the transportation sector. He worked with the Bangladesh Bridge Authority to manage the social analysis of the Land Acquisition Plan (LAP) in four districts of Bangladesh. He was also responsible for Social Management Framework and Social Impact Assessment for Power Plant projects by the Abul Khair group. He is also possessing the experience of working as a consultant for several development partners.
Sharif Wahab
Environmental and Social Analyst
Mr. Wahab is trained to prepare and review the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP). He was involved in the World Bank-funded capacity development program for land acquisition and resettlement professionals in Bangladesh for several years.
Rumana Islam
Research and Survey Specialist
Ms. Rumana is an economist with over ten years of experience working on project management, coordination, and research in sectors including trade and development in a developing (Bangladesh) and post-conflict (IMF – Afghanistan) country context. She was engaged as a consultant (in the UK) working for a leading international development management firm involved in political economy analysis, value for money analysis, bid writing, and project managing multi-million technical assistance projects across various geographies, funded by a range of clients including DFID/FCDO, World Bank, and the EU.
Ms. Rumana is also a consultant of the World Bank, supporting the team on the technical and operational development of a Humanitarian Research and Development Network (HDRN) focusing on the on-going Rohingya Refugee Crisis in Cox’s Bazaar. I am also supporting the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) through a Technical Assistance in updating the Household Income and Expenditure Survey by laying the foundation for evidence-based policy by strengthening data.
Johurul Islam
MIS Specialist
Mr. Islam is a data management specialist with training in social safeguard issues. Mr. Rana is experienced in sketch mapping of the alignment of project land, Mouza Map and Khotian collection, Mouza Map Drawing on CAD files. Among many projects, he worked with the ADB, and the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED). He was the Social Safeguard Specialist at PMU of LGED for the EMCRP project of World Bank. His expertise involves database development of user-friendly menu-driven software, cleaning, processing, tracking, and storage of data.
